In order to improve food production, existing agricultural lands must be managed better with regard to agricultural water. Due to the changes in water demand, supply, and use, (subsurface) drainage is now an integral part of integrated water management in multiple land-use scenarios, rather than merely as a measure for controlling waterlogging and/or salinity. In this course, you will be able to advance your knowledge of drainage, drainage systems, and solutions, as well as help secure a sustainable food supply. During this course, you will work on different modules, applying the knowledge gained directly to the drainage situation in your country. Moreover, you will expand your horizons on the global importance of drainage by learning from other cases and learners worldwide.
